A children’s book presenting the different struggles that kids, who are diagnosed with autism, deal with everyday.

These little books are part of a series of 30 books that will explore the different levels of the Autism Spectrum. Being an autism dad myself, I have been inspired to show our youth what autism is all about. To my knowledge, there is close to no children’s book that talk about autism. This series has the target market of kids between the ages of 5 to 8 years of age. The plan is to have this book available throughout the country within a year, so that all kids get to learn about autism. The book is 7 inches by 7 inches, has a glossy cover and contains 26 pages. It is available in both official languages.

A book for parents and adults interested in learning more of the spectrum of autism

While creating a book series that demonstrates the challenges and difficulties of living on the spectrum of autism through the life experience of our son, I realized that I did not have anything for the new parents who have just received an Autism diagnosis for their children and do not know where to go or what to do.

This situation, we experienced it. We have been there, we know what it feels like to be in the dark for quite some time before the services kick in and the ball starts rolling.

That is why I wrote this book, for parents to see what our experience was like and what happened after the services, for our son, started and how well he is doing. I start the story at birth, because it is where it actually started, and go on the the 8th grade. Throughout those years, there were challenges, sad moments, but also, many miracles and happy times.

Explore this book and this little story of new parents and a kid on the lower level of the spectrum and all of the wonderful things that happened to this family.

The book was originally written in french and is currently being translated for release.

My friend Sam meets the clown
My friend Sam meets the clown

Here is the very last book in the series. This book demonstrates how a friendship of an autistic child and a trusted adult can develop quickly. We demonstrate this through a fantastic experience Sam had at a book fair as he met author / Illustrator Jean-Pierre Veillet. The latter has become a great friend of the family.

Mr Veillet is the owner of the publishing house les éditions Mine d’Art and he has agreed to publish the French version. This opens up our possibility of being able to participate in several book fairs.
